Colouring Outside the Lines: Have You Seen My New Glasses?
This, for me, really is a 'Colouring Outside the Lines' post. These are the first glasses I've ordered from Clearly Contacts during one of their free glasses promotions, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to buy a style that are completely 'out there'. I have secretly been harboring a desire to have glasses like this for quite some time, and I had these bookmarked for ages before the free offer came up and I bought them straight away!
It's so funny how when they first arrived, I put them on and completely freaked out - took them off and went and did something else for a while... but something was nagging at me and I went back and tried them on again and again and before I knew it I really loved them! They're a bit wacky I know, and Corey hates them, (who cares!?) but you know what? I wish I had the balls to wear things like this a lot more, because this is honestly what I feel like wearing all the time, I'm just always too scared to show it!

Colouring Outside The Lines: Jewellery Making
One of the self-identified problems that I have which is a cause for my creative frustration, is that I have so many amazing ideas of things I want to design and make, yet I have no clue how to go about it, so the idea gets shelved, and I get shittier.
Well, I decided to pull finger by educating myself and enrolling in a silversmith night course. And so off I trundled last night, and I had a fantastic time, learned SO many things and produced this! A ring! To anyone who's worked with stirling silver they probably look at this and think, 'Wow, that's about as beginner as it gets...' but I'm stoked!
Note to the universe: Why do I insist on choosing hobbies which cost ridiculous amounts of money?

Colouring Outside the Lines: I See Red
There seems to be so little to blog about at the moment, but I thought I'd throw this in cos' I pushed the boundaries of my little zone of comfort today. Red tights and red lippy. Oh yeah. Reach for the sky Nikki. Hah!
Ever worn something outrageously bright and noticed how friggin' everybody looks at you while you're walking through the city? Hmmm, I just figured that one out... I have just discovered a good reason to stay tucked up in 'my zone'.

I Just Coloured Outside the Lines: Dinosaur Tootsies
Today I have coloured outside the lines in two respects.
Firstly, I manned up (woman-ed up?) and painted my toenails in my yellow nail polish. (Hearing sarcastic 'oohs and aahs' from the sidelines) ... Yes I know people, it's baby steps OK!?
I'm a bit on the fence with the outcome - in some lights it looks like I have dinosaur toenails, in others more like I've just removed layers and layers of old nail polish and not put any more on. Hah! ewww!
But outside it's not too bad, it's growing on me.
The other bold move I made today was actually putting photos of my hory feet on the internet for the world to see. There is nothing elegant about my feet, and trying to photograph my feet in a flattering way has proven pretty impossible this morning and confirmed what everyone tells me - that I have weird stubby toes, curled up pinkies and some bad jandal tan lines. There, I said what you were all thinking so now it's not uncomfortable haha!
I'm stepping out and heading off to work shortly, in my open toed sandals, ready to rock my dinosaur tootsies. But I think I'll draw the line at painting my fingernails too.

I Just Coloured Outside The Lines! : The Plan
Sarah at BobbyRobin has gotten into the spirit of 'getting out of the comfort zone' and created a button for anyone interested in joining us on the way! Check out her first super example of 'colouring outside the lines', and please feel free to hop over there and grab a button for your own page too!
Great idea Sarah, thank you!
Well, I'm planning on it...!
