Softie

With all the tragic events unfolding in Christchurch this week, I've felt so guilty about heading off to work each day and seemingly acting as if nothing has happened. I've been coming home each night and found myself fixated to the tv screen, watching horror after horror pass before me. It's the most awful feeling isn't it? Feeling helpless really sucks! So I decided that I would just attempt to do my part in a small way - and I've made a little softie for the 'Softies for Christchurch' appeal. She's a cute wee bunny, a nice and simple pattern that I got from here. I don't have the patience or skills like some of you talented crafters out there! But it's a little something anyway.

Love at the Monster Lab

                           

There is a clever wee lady on Salt Spring Island who makes these brilliant, wacky as softies from her studio the 'Monster Lab'. We drive past her little rural cottage with her 'Monster Lab' sign up every time we want to jump on the ferry to Victoria, so I just had to google her and get a bit more info!

From what I can tell, she doesn't have a website, but I happen to know that if anyone's in the area, she has a cute wee stall at the Saturday market.

Today I received my 'Lil' Bob' from Faery Sarah of BobbyRobin, yay!

He is super cute, and is currently playing post-it keeper next to my computer at work - 'Lil' Bob' is an international star now... Perth today, who knows where tomorrow!
