I recently found a treasure trove of illustrations from a copy of 'The Graphic' Newspaper, dated December 31st 1882, all tucked away in a corner of this labyrinth-like second hand book store on Salt Spring. And they were for sale. $2 each. Yes please.

Hand Drawn Calendar

Lately I've been admiring all the gorgeous 2010 calendars appearing on various design blogs around the place, and wanted to make one for myself.

I was inspired by one of my favourite illustrators and artists Julia Rothman and have started to put a calender together in a similar vein.

Still a work in progress, but quite fun to do a little bit each night. The hardest part is getting all the dates and days written correctly down the bottom!

Little Design Horse

I wanted to feature this fantastic wall that was displayed recently during the Perth International Arts Festival. The light would change colour to depict different moods and music being played at the venue.

Produced by a wonderful team of designers from a studio called 'Little Design Horse', I tracked them down to a gorgeous wee store in North Perth.

They are experts in textile, surface and illustration art, designing items from this super wall installation through to fabrics, posters, packaging, wall decal and wrapping paper.

Today is a fantastic day, a parcel from my sister arrived on my doorstep. Yayy, lots of goodies!

One of the things inside was this wee Dr. Seuss book, 'Oh The Places You'll Go'.

Seeing as I'm now living in Perth at the start of my O.E., it is very appropriate! So stoked, you're never too old for a little Dr. Seuss! :)
